What Travelers Say
Thank you
Greatly appreciated the guide
The Japan for First-Timers:The Golden Route is an excellent tool for planning. It helped me to organize places of interest complemented by a nice variety of food spots that I easily pinned on my google maps. It is wonderfully designed.
Didn’t have time to plan a full trip myself, but this guide was basically plug-and-play. So worth it!! I used it every single day in Japan.
This guide took the stress out of planning my first Japan trip. The daily routes were so clear, and the Google Maps pins were a lifesaver.
Literally planned my whole trip using this guide and it saved me so much time! thank you!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why not just use ChatGPT to plan my trip?
You can but AI builds itineraries from aggregated data, not firsthand experience. It doesn't know which temple is worth the 6am wake-up, which ramen spot is actually on your way, or how long the Fushimi Inari crowds take to clear. This guide does.
How many days does the guide cover?
The core itinerary covers 10 days — 4 in Tokyo, 4 in Kyoto, 2 in Osaka. Add the three bonus day trips (Mount Fuji area, Nikko, and Nara) and you have up to 14 days fully planned.
Can I print it?
The guide is built for mobile screens and isn't optimized for print. If you prefer a larger screen, it works great on a tablet or iPad too.
Do you offer tours or full trip planning?
Not at the moment — this guide is the closest thing to having someone plan your trip for you. Every route, every restaurant, every day is already decided. All you do is show up.
How do I access it after purchase?
You'll get a download link by email immediately after purchase. Works on iPhone, iPad, and Android — once downloaded, the guide itself works fully offline.
Note: the custom Google Map and restaurant links require an internet connection.
For iPhone and iPad we recommend the Books app. Full step-by-step instructions for all devices here.
Will the information stay current?
Yes. Every time the guide is updated you'll receive the new edition free, sent to the email you used at purchase. The current edition is 2026.
